About Us

How It Started

As an elementary teacher for over a decade, curriculum specialist, and school building leader, I understand the complexities of engaging and driving learners. As a mother of three I can relate to the blessings and challenges of teaching your own children.

Knowing each child’s strengths and weaknesses and developing a plan to inspire and challenge are no simple tasks. The desire to give our children every available option to enrich their academic experiences is always in the forefront of our minds. This is where the idea of Tutor Chest began. The goal is to offer parents and educators more options, convenience, and assistance with the most important job there is, educating our children

Tutor Chest is determined to deliver an accessible online environment that enhances learning for all students, parents, and educators. An easy to use, all-encompassing platform that connects parents with educators, provides resources, professional development opportunities, and a place to gain support and learn together.

When educators and families connect and create strong relationships, we can become true partners in children’s learning, and the possibilities become endless.

Kindest regards,

Vanessa Bjorkdahl

“I am a tutor on this site, and it has been a very easy and reliable way to meet new parents from all over! In my most recent encounter, I have met and secured a recurring job with a family in Florida! It was super easy and everything can be done at your own convenience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND AS A TUTOR, so I’m sure this is just as great for a parent! This company isn’t after their cut of the profit, they are all about helping students!”
